Ingredients

  • 3 lb Fresh Hamburger Meat
  • 1 tbsp Cooking Oil
  • 1 Can (15 ounces) of Hunt’s Tomato Sauce
  • 1 ½ tsp Salt
  • 14 Grams Happy Belly Regular Crackers
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 Bell Pepper
  • 1 Large White Onion
  • ½ Can More Tomato Sauce

Step by step instructions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°F. Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the hamburger meat, onion, and bell pepper and cook for about 7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the beef is browned.

Step 2

Place the cooked hamburger mixture in a 9×13-inch baking dish. In a medium bowl, combine Hunt’s tomato sauce, half of the tomato sauce, and salt. Pour this mixture over the beef in the baking dish and spread it out evenly.

Step 3

In another bowl, mix together the eggs, crackers, pepper, and the remaining half of the tomato sauce. Spread this mixture over the beef and tomato sauce, making sure it is all evenly distributed.

Step 4

Bake in preheated oven for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the center of the loaf reads at least 160°F. Let cool before serving.

Tips

  • Make sure to use ground beef with a fat content of at least 80/20. This will help keep your meatloaf moist and flavorful.
  • You can customize the flavor by adding herbs or spices to the mixture. Try oregano, basil, garlic powder, or cumin for an extra kick!
  • If you are short on time, you can skip the skillet step and just put the raw beef mixture into the baking dish. It will still turn out great but may take a bit longer to cook.
