Equipment

  • Oven
  • Bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 green onions thinly sliced
  • ½ cup buffalo-style hot sauce Feel free to adjust the heat level!
  • 8 oz block of cream cheese softened at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder This brings out some deep, savory flavors
  • 1 cup + ½ cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded (Sharp cheese adds tanginess)
  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt This adds a creamy, tangy twist
  • ½ cup part-skim mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 15 oz can cannellini beans, rinsed and drained

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • First, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). It’s essential to create a warm environment for our dip to bake into gooey goodness.

Step 2: Prepare the Base

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and plain Greek yogurt. Use a hand mixer or a spatula to blend them until smooth. This creates a wonderful creamy base for your dip.

Step 3: Spice It Up

  • Add in the buffalo sauce, garlic powder, and half the green onions. This is where the magic begins. Stir everything together until it’s well combined. The aroma will start to wake up your senses!

Step 4: Add the Beans and Cheese

  • Next, fold in the rinsed cannellini beans gently using a spatula. Be careful not to mash them too much; we want that delightful texture. Now, add in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese, stirring until evenly distributed.

Step 5: Transfer to Baker

  • Pour your mixture into a baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Don’t worry about making it perfect; just spread it to the best of your abilities.

Step 6: Bake

  • Bake that beauty for about 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and a light golden color appears on top.

Step 7: Garnish and Serve

  • Once out of the oven, top the dip with the remaining green onions for a splash of color and crunch. Serve immediately with your favorite dippers.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh herbs and cheeses make a noticeable difference in flavor.
  • Experiment with Heat: Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to your taste. Go mild or fiery!
  • Chill Before Serving: If you prefer it cold, allow it to sit in the fridge for an hour after mixing but before baking.
  • Try Different Beans: Navy or great northern beans can be used if you can't find cannellini.
  • Make it Ahead of Time: Prepare it a day in advance, then just bake before serving.
