Equipment

  • 2 bowls
  • gril, or skillet

Ingredients

  • For the salmon:
  • 12 salmon fillets
  • 2/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cups lemon juice
  • 12 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 2/3 fresh basil minced
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp dried thyme
  • 2/3 tsp pepper
  • 2/3 Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp curry powder
  • For the tartar sauce:
  • 1/2 tbsp ground mustard
  • 2 tbsp green onion chopped
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2/3 tsp paprika
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2/3 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp dried dill

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, melted butter, fresh basil, salt, dried thyme, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and curry powder.
  • Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  • Put the salmon pieces in a big sealable bag and pour the marinade on top.
  • Close the bag and softly rub the marinade onto the fillets until they're covered.
  • Keep the bag in the fridge and let it soak for at least 30 minutes, or as long as 2 hours.
  • In a small bowl, combine the ground mustard, chopped green onion, lemon juice, paprika, mayonnaise, pepper, and dried dill.
  • Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  • Heat up your grill to medium-high.
  • Take the salmon pieces out of the marinade and get rid of extra marinade.
  • Put the fillets on the grill and cook for around 5 minutes on each side, until they're fully cooked.
  • Once cooked, remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
  • Serve with tartar sauce on top and enjoy your homemade Texas Roadhouse Salmon!

Notes

  • If grilling is not an option, you can also cook the salmon in a skillet over medium-high heat for 9-10 minutes on both sides.
  • For added flavor, you can sprinkle some additional dried thyme and pepper on top of the salmon before grilling.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled to serve a larger crowd.
