Ingredients

  • ¾ cup sauerkraut, drained and squeezed dry
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • ¾ pound thin-sliced cooked corned beef
  • 1 beaten egg white
  • 1 (8-ounce) tube of refrigerated crescent rolls (such as Pillsbury)
  • ⅓ cup thousand island salad dressing.

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F (175° C). Grease a 9-inch round baking dish with cooking oil or butter.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and corned beef.
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough into 8 triangles and place them in the greased baking dish with their points facing towards the center. The dough should cover the entire bottom of the dish.
  • Spread half of the sauerkraut mixture over the dough.
  • Fold each crescent triangle over the mixture, forming a circle. Brush with egg white and drizzle with thousand island salad dressing.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

- If the crescent roll dough is too soft to work with, place it in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes before using.
- To make this dish gluten-free, use a gluten-free version of crescent rolls.
- For an extra cheesy flavor, sprinkle shredded cheese over the top of the bake before baking.
- If you like a crunchy texture, add some crushed potato chips or French fried onions atop the bake before baking.
