Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds chicken pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 3 cups purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons paprika

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces with black pepper and cayenne pepper and mix well.
  • In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, hot sauce, egg, and paprika and mix until fully combined. Dip each chicken piece in the buttermilk mixture, making sure to fully coat each piece.
  • Place the chicken pieces in a gallon-size bag filled with flour and toss until all of the chicken is coated.
  • Place the coated chicken pieces on a greased baking sheet and bake for about 30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Serve warm with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Make sure to coat the chicken pieces in the flour well before baking, as this helps create a crispier texture.
  • If you want an extra crunchy coating, use panko breadcrumbs instead of flour for coating the chicken.
