Ingredients

  • ½ pound Ground Beef
  • 1 teaspoon White Pepper
  • 1 cup Veal Stock
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Tabasco Sauce
  • ½ cup Celery (chopped)
  • ½ cup Onions (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ cup Red Bell Peppers
  • ½ cup Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme
  • 2 tablespoons Bacon Grease
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoons Garlic (minced)

Instructions

  • Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until browned.
  • Add the pepper, veal stock, butter, and tabasco sauce to the skillet. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Add the celery, onions, Worcestershire sauce, and red bell peppers to the mixture and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, oregano, thyme, bacon grease, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
  • Slowly add the dry ingredients to the saucepan and stir until all of the ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Add the garlic and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Serve the Popeyes gravy over your favorite dishes or enjoy it as is!

  • If you want a thicker gravy, slowly add more flour until you reach your desired consistency.
