Notes
For a lighter and fluffier mashed potato, use a ricer to mash the potatoes instead of a masher or mixer.
To make the mashed potatoes extra creamy, add more butter and cream cheese.
For a healthier version of the mashed potatoes, use low-fat or non-fat dairy products instead of full-fat.
To add more flavor to the mashed potatoes, add some chopped fresh herbs such as parsley, chives, or thyme.
To make the mashed potatoes even creamier, add some warm milk or cream.
For a cheesy mashed potato, add some shredded cheese to the mixture before mashing.
To make the mashed potatoes ahead of time, prepare the potatoes as instructed and then transfer them to a greased baking dish. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until heated through.
