Equipment

  • stirrer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Ziplock Bag

Ingredients

  • 2 Ribeye Steaks the marbled indulgence
  • 1/2 Cup of Tropical Pineapple Juice the sweet essence
  • 1/2 Cup of Soy Sauce the umami ambassador
  • 1/2 Bunch of Green Onions finely chopped for a fresh crunch
  • 2 Cloves of Garlic minced to aromatic perfection
  • 1/4 Cup of Apple Cider Vinegar the fruity acidity
  • 1/2 Inch of Fresh Ginger peeled and grated, the zesty root
  • 1/4 Cup of White Granulated Sugar the sweet alchemy
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Black Pepper the aromatic heat
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste the culinary yin and yang

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine pineapple juice, soy sauce, chopped green onions, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, grated ginger, sugar, black pepper, and salt to taste. Whisk the ingredients together until the sugar dissolves.
  • Place the ribeye steaks in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to let the flavors infuse.
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  • Take the marinated ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Remove the steaks from the marinade and allow any excess marinade to drip off.
  • Grill the ribeye steaks to your desired doneness, turning once. Cooking times may vary depending on your grill and desired doneness.
  • During the last few minutes of grilling, baste the steaks with some of the reserved marinade. Discard any marinade that the raw meat was in.
  • Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to be redistributed. Slice the ribeye steaks against the grain.
  • Garnish with additional chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for added flavor and presentation.
  • Serve the Houston's Hawaiian Ribeye steaks with your favorite sides and enjoy the deliciously marinated and grilled flavors!

Notes

  • Make sure to use a good quality soy sauce for this recipe.
  • To make the marinade spicier, add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
  • If you don’t have pineapple juice, you can use orange juice or apple juice instead.
  • If you don’t have a thermometer, you can use a knife to check if the steak is done.
  • Insert the knife into the thickest part of the steak and if the juices run clear, the steak is done.
