- 8 oz Spaghetti
- Basil leaves
- 4 tablespoons Fresh basil
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 3 oz Tomatoes
- 4 oz button mushrooms
- ½ teaspoon Cayenne pepper
- Salt and ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoon tablespoon olive oil
- Parmesan cheese
- Garlic bread
Cook the pasta according to package instructions in a large pot of boiling salted water. In a medium-sized skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
Add the mushrooms and tomatoes and sauté for 5 minutes, until softened. Add the basil leaves, cayenne pepper and season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
Drain the cooked pasta and add it to the skillet with the vegetables. Toss everything together until evenly combined. Serve with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and some garlic bread on the side.
- If you prefer a spicier dish, add some red pepper flakes to the vegetables while sautéing them.
- For added flavor, try adding some white wine or chicken broth to the pasta when cooking it.
