Equipment

  • large pitcher
  • Saucepan

Ingredients

  • 1 750 ml bottle of red wine
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup Triple Sec
  • ½ cup white rum
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup pineapple juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup simple syrup
  • 2 limes
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 orange
  • 1 cup blackberries

Instructions

  • In a large pitcher, carefully mix together the red wine, water, Triple Sec, white rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, and simple syrup. Then squeeze in the freshly squeezed lime juice and add in slices of lemon and orange to round out the flavor.
  • To make your own sweetener for this sangria, combine sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is dissolved. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes before removing from heat. Let cool completely.
  • Once cooled, add your homemade sweetener to the pitcher of sangria and stir together all ingredients until thoroughly combined. Lastly, add in the blackberries and let sit for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator before serving.
  • When ready to serve, pour your delicious Carlo Rossi Sangria over ice with a few slices of fresh fruit! Enjoy your homemade sangria that tastes just as good - if not better - than any professional bar's version.

Notes

  • For a sweeter sangria, add more sugar or simple syrup.
  • If you want to give it an extra kick, try adding a shot of brandy or tequila.
  • If you’re looking for a different flavor profile, try using different types of white wines such as Riesling or Sauvignon Blanc.
  • Feel free to experiment with different fruits as well! Berries, peaches, and melons all work great in this recipe.
  • For a lighter version of the sangria, try using sparkling wine instead of red wine.
  • To add some extra flavor, try adding a few sprigs of fresh herbs such as rosemary or thyme.
