Ingredients
2
pounds
of unsalted butter
room temperature
2
tsp
of fresh thyme leaves
1/2
cup
of garlic
chopped
1
cup
of shallots
chopped
Instructions
Leave butter at room temperature for an hour for easy blending.
Finely chop 2 shallots and 3 garlic cloves, or use a food processor for smoother texture.
Melt 2 tbsp of softened butter in a saucepan, sauté shallots and garlic till translucent.
Stir in 1 tsp of fresh thyme leaves, cook for a minute, then let it cool.
Combine the remaining softened butter with the shallot, garlic, and thyme mixture.
Shape the mixture into a log using parchment paper or plastic wrap.
Wrap the log tightly and refrigerate for an hour to firm up.
Slice and place on steak or use in various dishes for extra flavor.
Notes
For an extra boost of flavor, try incorporating other herbs like rosemary or sage into the butter mixture.
You can also experiment with different types of shallots, such as red or golden, to add a slight variation in taste.
Make sure to use unsalted butter to have full control over the saltiness of the final product.
If you're short on time, you can use pre-minced shallots and garlic from the grocery store.
This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled for larger batches or to have extra butter on hand for future meals.
