  • 1 pound of ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup of mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup of finely chopped nuts
  • 2 tablespoons of orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup of heavy cream

Instructions

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place the cannoli shells on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes until they are crispy and golden brown.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, chocolate chips, nuts, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks. This will help create a smooth and creamy texture for the ricotta filling.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the ricotta mixture until fully incorporated.
  • Carefully spoon the ricotta filling into the cooled cannoli shells, making sure to evenly distribute the mixture.

Notes

  • Be sure to use a good quality ricotta cheese for best results.
  • Feel free to add other ingredients such as dried fruits or chopped nuts to the ricotta mixture.
  • If you’re short on time, you can use pre-made cannoli shells instead of making your own.
  • If you don’t have mini chocolate chips, you can substitute chopped dark chocolate.
  • For an extra special touch, drizzle the cannoli shells with melted chocolate before serving.
