Equipment

  • Aluminum foil
  • Baking Pan

Ingredients

  • A few drops of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 2 cups of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

Instructions

  • Gather all the ingredients for your Brenda Gantt Chocolate Fudge: dark chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter, sugar, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ingredients until fully incorporated with no lumps. Then place the bowl over a pot of simmering water to melt everything together. Stir continuously to avoid burning or sticking to the bottom.
  • Grease an 8"x 8" square baking pan with butter or cooking spray and pour the melted chocolate fudge mixture into it, evenly spreading the top with a spatula.
  • Allow your fudge to cool down to room temperature then cover the pan with a lid or aluminum foil and place in the fridge for 2 hours or overnight.
  • When your fudge has cooled, remove it from the refrigerator and cut it into desired shapes and sizes using a sharp knife. Serve up your delectable Brenda Gantt Chocolate Fudge and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use high-quality dark chocolate chips: Choose a good quality dark chocolate for the best taste and texture. Premium brands are often worth it, as they will give you a rich flavor with a smooth finish.
  • Melt the chocolate slowly: Patience is key when melting your ingredients. If you melt the chocolate too quickly, it can burn and cause a grainy texture.
  • Use a heavy-bottomed pot: To prevent burning, use a heavy-bottomed pot when heating your fudge mixture over the stove. This will help to evenly distribute the heat and prevent scorching.
  • Refrigerate overnight for best results: Allowing the fudge to fully set overnight in the refrigerator will give it a smooth, creamy texture.
