Equipment

  • Medium pot for boiling pasta
  • large mixing bowl
  • Whisk or fork for dressing

Ingredients

  • 2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Dry mustard
  • 16 oz dry garden rotini
  • 2 head of broccoli
  • 2 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Boil the Pasta-Start by bringing a medium pot of water to a rolling boil. The key to perfectly cooked pasta is using plenty of salted water. Once the water reaches a rapid boil, carefully add in the dry garden rotini and give it a quick stir. Set your timer according to the package instructions for al dente pasta.
  • Whip Up the Dressing- While the pasta is cooking, prepare the dressing. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, white sugar, apple cider vinegar, salt, and dry mustard. Using a whisk or fork, mix everything together until well combined and smooth.
  • Incorporate Broccoli and Cheese- Once your pasta is al dente, drain it and transfer it to the dressing mixture. Give it a good toss until all the noodles are evenly coated in the creamy dressing. Next, add in the fresh broccoli florets and shredded mild cheddar cheese. Mix everything together until all the ingredients are well distributed.
  • Chill and Serve-Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours before serving. This will give the flavors time to meld together and create a delicious balance in every bite. Once chilled, serve your homemade Walmart Broccoli Salad and enjoy it fresh!

Notes

  • Don't overcook the pasta as it can become too soft and mushy when mixed with the dressing.
  • For a healthier option, you can use light mayonnaise and reduced-fat cheddar cheese.
  • Make sure to refrigerate the salad for at least 2 hours before serving for the best flavor.
  • Try to use fresh broccoli for a crisp and crunchy texture in the salad.
