Bowl
Parchment paper
Baking sheet
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter melted
- 1 cup ube powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
Gather the necessary ingredients and measure them out. You will need 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of melted butter, 1 cup of ube powder, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1 cup of all-purpose flour.
Combine the ingredients in a bowl and mix them together using a spatula or your hands. Continue to mix until a soft dough forms and all of the ingredients are fully incorporated. Feel free to add more butter if needed to help make the texture easier to work with.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and take about 1 tablespoon of the dough at a time, rolling it into an oval shape between your palms before placing it on the sheet. Repeat until all of the dough is used up.
Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 10 minutes or until lightly golden brown on the edges. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before serving. Enjoy your homemade Ube Polvoron!
- For a more chewy texture, bake the Ube Polvoron for an additional 5 minutes or until golden brown all over.
- To add a crunchy texture to your Ube Polvoron, try adding chopped nuts or dried fruits to the dough before shaping it into discs.
- To make your own ube powder, combine 1 cup of cooked and mashed ube with 2 tablespoons of sugar in a food processor. Blend until you get a fine powder.
- For extra flavor, try adding other extracts such as vanilla or almond extract to the dough.
- To add more sweetness, sprinkle it with some powdered sugar before serving.
