Skyrim Mead Recipe

If you're a fan of the popular video game Skyrim, you may have heard of mead - an alcoholic beverage made from honey.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp of ground cardamom
  • 4 inches of sliced ginger
  • 4 kg Honey
  • 3 liters of water
  • 3 liters of spring water
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1- ounce yeast
  • 4 tsp of cloves
  • zest of one orange

Instructions

  • In a large pot, combine the sliced ginger, ground cardamom, cloves, and orange zest. Pour in 3 liters of water and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  • Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for 30 minutes to infuse it with flavor. Remove from heat and allow it to cool.
  • Meanwhile, in a separate pot, combine the honey and spring water. Stir constantly over medium-high heat until all the honey has dissolved.
  • Let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes before removing from heat and allowing it to cool to room temperature.
  • Once cooled, pour the honey-water mixture into a sanitized glass jug or plastic fermenter. Add in the cinnamon sticks and stir.
  • Sprinkle the yeast evenly on top of the liquid and cover the jug or fermenter with a clean cloth or lid.
  • Store the jug or fermenter in a cool, dark place for at least two weeks to allow for fermentation. The longer it ferments, the stronger and more alcoholic the mead will be.
  • After two weeks, use a sanitized siphon to transfer the mead into clean glass bottles. Seal with corks or bottle caps and store in a cool place for at least four months to allow the flavors to fully develop.
  • When ready to serve, chill the mead and pour into glasses. For added flavor and presentation, garnish each glass with a cinnamon stick.
  • Savor each sip of your homemade Skyrim Mead.

  • For a stronger mead, let it ferment for longer than two weeks.
  • You can adjust the amount of spices used according to your preferences.
  • It's important to use sanitized equipment to avoid contamination and spoilage.
