Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Oven
  • Pot
  • Baking sheet

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 pounds of beef ground
  • 16 oz lasagna noodles
  • 1/2 cup parsley chopped
  • 3 cups water
  • 30 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 32 oz jar thick spaghetti sauce
  • 24 oz mozzarella cheese shredded

Instructions

  • Begin by heating a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add in the ground beef, ensuring it is evenly spread out in the pan. Use a wooden spoon or spatula to break up the meat into smaller pieces as it cooks.
  • Continue cooking until the beef is browned and no longer pink, stirring occasionally for even browning. Once done, remove the cooked beef from the skillet and drain any excess grease.
  • In a large pot, bring water to a boil before adding the lasagna noodles. Cook for approximately 8-10 minutes or until they reach an al dente texture (firm but not hard). Drain the cooked noodles and set them aside on a clean surface to cool.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large mixing bowl, beat together the eggs, salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese until well combined. Add in the previously cooked ground beef and parsley, stirring until evenly distributed.
  • Spread half of the spaghetti sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Begin layering the lasagna noodles on top of the sauce, followed by a layer of the meat mixture, a layer of ricotta cheese, and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese.
  • Repeat these layers until all ingredients are used up, finishing with a final layer of mozzarella cheese.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Once it is fully cooked, remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for at least 10 minutes before serving to allow it to cool and set slightly. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious homemade Skinner Lasagna!

Notes

  • You can add in other vegetables such as spinach or bell peppers to the meat mixture for added nutrients and flavor.
  • For a vegetarian version, you can substitute the ground beef with tofu or lentils.
  • To save time, you can use pre-cooked lasagna noodles instead of cooking them yourself.
