Ingredients

  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 3 cups Spaghetti sauce
  • 16 pieces Uncooked LASAGNA
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 2 cups -8 oz. mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups Ricotta cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (191°C). Grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with butter or oil and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it is browned, stirring occasionally and breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain off any excess fat and set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, ricotta cheese, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Spread a thin layer of spaghetti sauce over the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Place 4 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce and spread 1/3 of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese and 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese.
  • Top with half of the ground beef, then spoon on another layer of spaghetti sauce. Place 4 more lasagna noodles over the sauce and repeat layering with the rest of the ricotta cheese mixture, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, and ground beef. Top with remaining spaghetti sauce.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 35 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 20 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned on top. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

• You can also add sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, or zucchini to the lasagna for added flavor and texture.
• If you’d like a firmer cheese layer in the lasagna, use cottage cheese instead of ricotta cheese.
• You can also substitute ground chicken or turkey for the beef.
