- 1/2 cup sugar
- Lemon slices & fresh mint sprigs for serving adjust to your taste
- 3 regular-size or 2 family-size Luzianne tea bags
- 1 pinch of baking soda
- 1 quart of filtered water
In a medium-sized saucepan, bring the quart of filtered water to a boil.
Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add the tea bags. Let the tea bags steep in the hot water for about 5-7 minutes.
After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags from the hot water.
While the tea is still hot, stir in the 1/2 cup of sugar until it dissolves. Add a pinch of baking soda to reduce bitterness. Stir until well combined.
Allow the sweet tea to cool to room temperature. You can speed up the process by placing the saucepan in the refrigerator.
Once the sweet tea has cooled, pour it over ice and garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint sprigs according to your taste preferences.
Stir the sweet tea before serving and enjoy your homemade sweet tea!
