Roll out puff pastry, cut into rectangles, and fill one half with the apple mixture. Seal edges.
Combine cinnamon and sugar in a bowl.
Fry pastries in hot vegetable oil for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Drain excess oil.
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Bake pies on a sheet for 10-12 minutes until puff pastry is fully cooked and golden.
Serve warm, and enjoy your homemade Popeyes Apple Pies.
Notes
If you don't have pumpkin spice, you can create your own by mixing cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and allspice according to your taste preference.
The apples should be thinly sliced to ensure they cook evenly. You can use a mandoline or a sharp knife to achieve this.
Be careful while frying the pies as the oil can splatter. Use a splatter guard or cover the skillet partially with a lid to prevent any accidents.
You can adjust the amount of sugar in the filling according to your preference and the sweetness of the apples you are using.
