Equipment

  • Large saucepan

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 Tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 Cup of chopped carrots(Frozen)
  • 1/4 Cup of peas(Frozen)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Tsp onion powder
  • 2 Tsp sazon
  • 2 Cups of chicken broth
  • 1 Cup of rice
  • 1 Tsp garlic powder
  • 2 Tsp paprika

Instructions

  • Heat a deep pan over medium heat and add in vegetable oil, turmeric, carrots, peas, and salt. Cook for about 5 minutes until everything is softened.
  • Add in onion powder, sazon, chicken broth, and rice. Stir to combine all the ingredients together.
  • Cover the pan with a lid and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 15 minutes or until all the liquid is absorbed.
  • Turn off the heat and let sit for another 5 minutes before removing the lid. Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in garlic powder and paprika.
  • Serve Pollo Tropical Rice with your favorite side dishes or toppings!
