- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 4 pieces bacon cooked and crumbled
- 1 pack of macaroni and cheese
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 scallions diced for garnish
Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil and add the macaroni noodles. Cook as per package instructions, then drain and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the onions and garlic. Allow to cook for 5-7 minutes or until the beef is cooked through.
Add the cooked bacon, cheese, and BBQ sauce to the mixture, stirring to combine. Allow to cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
To assemble the dish, add the macaroni noodles to the skillet and stir until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Cook for another 2 minutes before serving in individual bowls or on a plate. Top with diced scallions for garnish and extra flavor.
- For a spicier version of this dish, add some diced jalapeños or cayenne pepper to the ground beef mixture.
- If you don't have BBQ sauce on hand, try substituting it with ketchup or tomato sauce.
- Serve the mac and cheese with a side of your favorite vegetables for an added burst of nutrition.
- To give the dish an extra cheesy flavor, sprinkle some shredded cheese over the top before serving.
