2tablespoons minced Garlic
1cup White Wine
1pound ground Italian Sausage
12ounces diced Tomatoes
20ouncesof Marinara Sauce
1ouncesButter
1ounce chopped Basil
8ounces shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1 Basil Sprig to garnish
3tablespoons Parmesan CheeseGrated
Instructions
Before you start, heat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Then, in a big pot, boil water with some salt. Put the ziti pasta in the boiling water and cook it until it's just right, following the instructions on the package. Once it's done, drain the pasta and leave it aside for later.
Then, put some olive oil in a medium-sized pan and heat it on medium heat. Then, add the garlic and cook it for about 1 minute. After that, add the Italian sausage and cook it until it turns brown, which should take around 8 to 10 minutes.
Pour in white wine and simmer for 2 minutes before adding in diced tomatoes, marinara sauce, butter, basil, and salt & pepper to taste. Simmer over medium heat for 8-10 minutes.
In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer 1/2 of the cooked ziti pasta, followed by 1/2 of the sausage sauce and 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese. Repeat layering again with the remaining ingredients ending with mozzarella cheese on top.
Sprinkle parmesan cheese over the top and bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove from oven, garnish with basil sprigs & serve warm.

Notes
• Make sure to use a large pot for the ziti pasta so it can cook evenly.• If time allows, attempt to find a good quality Italian sausage from your local deli. This will make all the difference.• Use fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese to garnish this dish (optional).
