Bowl
Baking sheet
oven mitts
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 15-ounce can of tomato sauce
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 lb ground beef
In a large bowl, combine the chopped onions, salt, ground pork, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix the ingredients together until evenly blended.
Form small balls out of the mixture (around 1-1½ inches in diameter). Place them on an oiled baking sheet.
Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F. Take out of the oven and serve hot!
In a medium saucepan, simmer together the tomato sauce and garlic on medium heat for 10 minutes.
Add the meatballs to the tomato sauce mixture and stir gently, coating the meatballs in the sauce. Serve and enjoy!
- For added flavor, consider adding herbs such as oregano or basil to the tomato sauce.
- Use a thermometer to check the internal temperature of the meatballs and ensure they are cooked through before serving.
- If you prefer your meatballs a bit spicier, add some red pepper flakes to the mixture before forming them into balls.
- Feel free to double the recipe and freeze the extra meatballs for later use. They can be frozen in a sealed container for up to three months!
