Firstly, ensure that you have 3 grams of fresh Cuban oregano leaves at your disposal. Give the leaves a thorough rinse under cold water to remove any impurities or dirt.
In a saucepan, bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.
Once the water is boiling, add the Cuban oregano leaves to the saucepan. Allow them to simmer in the water for approximately 5 minutes.
After simmering, delicately strain the tea into a mug or teapot using a fine-mesh strainer.
Sweeten your Cuban oregano tea to your liking with the sweetener of your choice. Honey, sugar, or stevia are all excellent options.
Notes
For a stronger flavor, you can use more oregano leaves or let the tea simmer for a longer period.
If using dried oregano leaves, reduce the amount to 1 gram as they have a more concentrated taste.
You can also add other herbs or spices such as ginger or cinnamon for added flavor and health benefits.
Serve hot or chilled over ice for a refreshing summer drink.
