Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • stirrer

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped garlic
  • 1 pound unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped shallots

Instructions

  • Gather all of your ingredients and have them prepped. Use a sharp knife to finely chop the garlic, shallots, and thyme leaves so that they are small enough to fit through the sieve when straining later on.
  • In a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it is completely liquid and starts to bubble. Add in the garlic, shallots, and thyme leaves. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to make sure that everything is evenly cooked.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow it to cool for 30 minutes. Once cooled, strain the butter through a fine mesh sieve to remove any solids that may have remained in the butter.
  • Transfer the shallot butter into an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator! This will ensure that you can have fresh, flavorful Capital Grille Shallot Butter whenever you need it.

Notes

  • For an extra savory flavor, try adding a pinch of salt or some freshly cracked black pepper.
  • If you want to make it spicier, try adding in a small amount of cayenne pepper or red chili flakes.
  • If you don't have fresh thyme on hand, dried thyme can be used in its place. Just use about half the amount of dried thyme as you would fresh.
