Ingredients

  • 1/2 Green Bell Pepper
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 Yellow Onion
  • 2 Sticks of Celery
  • 1 Rotisserie Chicken deboned
  • 1 lb. Smoked Sausage
  • 1 (32oz) Unsalted Chicken Stock
  • 1/2 Tablespoon of Cajun Seasoning
  • 2 cups 2 Cups of Water before simmering
  • 1 Bay Leaves
  • 5 oz frozen Seasoning Blend
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • Begin by prepping your vegetables. Start by dicing the bell pepper, onion, and celery. Then set aside in a bowl for later use.
  • Heat up a large pot over medium heat and add vegetable oil to it. Once the oil is hot, add the diced bell pepper, onion, and celery to the pot. Stir occasionally until veggies are softened, around 4-5 minutes.
  • Add the all-purpose flour to the vegetables and mix until it’s well combined. Pour in the chicken stock and 2 cups of water into the pot and stir everything together until fully mixed.
  • Add the rotisserie chicken to the pot, as well as the smoked sausage and frozen seasoning blend. Give everything a good stir so all ingredients are incorporated together.
  • Add in the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and salt. Stir until combined with the rest of the ingredients. Bring the gumbo to a low boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.
  • After the 30 minutes have passed, turn off the heat and enjoy your delicious Cajun ninja gumbo!
