Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Pot
  • spatula, etc.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. of premium ground beef carefully selected for optimal flavor and juiciness
  • 1 can 16 oz. of black beans, thoughtfully drained and rinsed
  • 1 can 16 oz. of pinto beans, meticulously drained and rinsed
  • 1 can 16 oz. of kidney beans, thoroughly drained and rinsed
  • 2 cans 14.5 oz. each of diced tomatoes, bursting with vibrant flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper for a subtle kick
  • 1 large sweet onion finely chopped to enhance sweetness
  • 1 can 8 oz. of high-quality tomato sauce for a rich and luscious texture
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced for an aromatic depth
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin for a warm and earthy undertone
  • 1 teaspoon of salt to balance and enhance the overall flavor profile
  • 2 tablespoons of carefully curated chili powder for a perfect blend of spices

Instructions

  • In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, brown the premium ground beef. Break it into crumbles as it cooks, ensuring it's thoroughly cooked and browned.
  • Add the finely chopped sweet onion and minced garlic to the browned beef. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent and the garlic is aromatic.
  • Sprinkle the carefully curated chili powder, cumin, freshly ground black pepper, and salt over the beef mixture. Stir well to evenly coat the meat with the spices.
  • Add the drained and rinsed kidney beans, pinto beans, and black beans to the pot.
  • Pour in the diced tomatoes and high-quality tomato sauce. Stir the ingredients together.
  • Bring the chili to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Taste the chili and adjust the seasonings if needed. You can add more chili powder, salt, or pepper according to your preference.
  • Once the chili has reached your desired flavor profile, it's ready to be served. Ladle it into bowls and consider topping it with shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions if desired.
  • Enjoy Brenda Gantt's premium beef chili with your favorite accompaniments. It's a hearty and flavorful dish perfect for any occasion!

Notes

  • Use high-quality ground beef for maximum flavor.
  • Feel free to adjust the spices to your taste preferences.
  • Adding a tablespoon of brown sugar will help balance out the acidity of the tomatoes.
  • Top your chili with shredded cheese, diced onions, sour cream, and/or chopped cilantro.
  • Serve with your favorite sides such as cornbread, tortilla chips, or rice.
