Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun spice mix
  • 1 tablespoon Old bay seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 1/4 onion diced
  • salt to taste
  • 4 sticks of unsalted butter
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 3 bulbs garlic

Optional

  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon tabasco sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ginger minced

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together oregano, black pepper, cayenne pepper, onion powder, lemon pepper, chili powder, Cajun spice mix, and Old bay seasoning. Set aside the mixture for later use.
  • In a medium-sized pot over medium heat, melt butter and add diced onion. Stir the onion and butter together until they are evenly mixed and starting to brown.
  • Add garlic and sauté for two minutes, then add chicken broth and stir. Once the mixture is simmering, reduce heat to low and gradually add the reserved seasoning mix while stirring constantly. Simmer sauce for five minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce to the mixture and stir until combined. Simmer for 5-10 minutes more or until desired thickness is achieved. If using, add lemon juice, vinegar, crushed red pepper flakes and tabasco sauce to the mixture and stir until combined.
  • If using, add ginger and stir until combined. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes or until desired thickness is achieved.
  • Season with salt to taste and remove from heat. Allow Bloves Sauce to cool before serving.
