  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Cups Vegetable or Butter Flavored Shortening Crisco®
  • 3/4 Tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder

Instructions

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures that it reaches the perfect temperature for baking your cookies to golden perfection.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, crunchy peanut butter, Crisco shortening, egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Use a hand mixer or stand mixer on high speed to beat the ingredients until they are smooth and well combined.
  • In a separate small bowl, stir together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until evenly blended.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients mixture to the bowl with the creamed mixture. Beat on low speed just until the ingredients are fully combined and a dough forms.
  • Roll the dough into 36 balls, each approximately 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Place them evenly spaced, about 2 inches apart, on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Using a fork, gently press down on each dough ball in a criss-cross pattern to flatten them slightly and create a classic peanut butter cookie shape.
  • Slide the baking sheet into the preheated oven and bake the cookies for 7 to 8 minutes, or until they are set and have a light golden brown color.
