3/4Tsp.Baking Soda
1/2Tsp.Baking Powder
Instructions
Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures that it reaches the perfect temperature for baking your cookies to golden perfection.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, crunchy peanut butter, Crisco shortening, egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Use a hand mixer or stand mixer on high speed to beat the ingredients until they are smooth and well combined.
In a separate small bowl, stir together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until evenly blended.
Gradually add the dry ingredients mixture to the bowl with the creamed mixture. Beat on low speed just until the ingredients are fully combined and a dough forms.
Roll the dough into 36 balls, each approximately 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Place them evenly spaced, about 2 inches apart, on an ungreased baking sheet.
Using a fork, gently press down on each dough ball in a criss-cross pattern to flatten them slightly and create a classic peanut butter cookie shape.
Slide the baking sheet into the preheated oven and bake the cookies for 7 to 8 minutes, or until they are set and have a light golden brown color.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, serve and enjoy these delicious homemade Crisco peanut butter cookies!
Notes
For extra nuttiness, you can sprinkle crushed peanuts on top of the cookie dough before baking.
Do not overmix the cookie dough, as this can result in tough cookies.
For a softer cookie, reduce the baking time slightly.
Store the cookies in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
To enhance the flavor, you can use creamy peanut butter instead of crunchy for a smoother texture.
